Family Suites

 The Sanctuary

Family Suite, cottage style room with a
double bed and 2 single beds.

Solar Beach is actually an extension of Robberg Beach sometimes referred to as Sanctuary Beach by the locals. This is a more secluded stretch of beach which is located close to Wreck beach which is a popular surfing spot.  This is also a leash free beach which makes it a fabulous option for walking the dogs (but don’t forget your baggie).  The shipwreck is often visible at low tide which is a Greek trawler that sank here in 1967 after hitting a rock at the tip of the Robberg Nature Reserve.

The Robberg

Family Suite, cottage style room with a
double bed and 2 single beds.

Robberg Beach stretches for 4 kilometers between the Robberg Peninsula and the Beacon Island Hotel.  This beach is great for long walks, jogging, swimming and surfing.  It is not uncommon to sight a seal or dolphin along this stretch.  There are beaches within this stretch of beach; Robberg 5, Solar Beach, Sanctuary Beach and Wreck. There are several swimming stations along this stretch of beach which is monitored by lifeguards during peak and holiday seasons to keep our bathers safe from the number of riptides there are much of the time.

The Hobie

Family Suite, cottage style room with a
double bed and 2 single beds.

Hobie beach is the stretch of beach located between the busy Central or Main Beach and The Wedge which is one of South Africa’s best body boarding breaks.  At Hobie beach one can rent a Hobie cat or Jet Ski for the day or mozie your way up to The Bungalow for lunch or sundowner.

The Lookout

Family Suite, cottage style room with a
double bed and 2 single beds.

Before the 2007 floods, Lookout Beach was the most popular beach in the area where locals and holiday makers alike used to flock to spend lazy days swimming, tanning and frequenting The Lookout Restaurant for a bite to eat or some ice cold beverages.  Slowly the beach returned and is now popular for long walks along the ocean side from the Lookout parking lot to the river mouth, and then along the Keurbooms River back to the parking area.

The Keurbooms

Family Suite, cottage style room with a
double bed and 2 single beds.

Keurbooms beach is a long stretch of beach which is great for long walks and pansy shell hunting but not recommended to swim alone as it is a little wilder than the other beaches.  There are often dolphins to be sighted in the waves and one can enjoy watching the sun set over Plett from this side of the coastline.  If you would like to swim we can recommend the Singing Kettle beach which also has a great restaurant located nearby.

Twin / Double Suites

Formosa Suite

Offering views of the Keurbooms Lagoon, this room comes with a private entrance, satellite TV and tea-and-coffee making facilities. The en suite bathroom is equipped with a shower and hairdryer.

Formosa Peak or Peak Formosa is the highest point of the Tsitsikamma Mountains and is visible from our property.  During the winter months the sun rises over this mountain range which is a sight to behold.  Formosa Peak is a popular hiking destination which is quite a strenuous walk but rewards with incredible views.

Poortjies

Offering views of the Keurbooms Lagoon, this room comes with a private entrance, satellite TV and tea-and-coffee making facilities. The en-suite bathroom is equipped with a shower and hairdryer.

Poortjies is the lagoon mouth which is a very popular strip of beach for younger families where little ones spend hours building sandcastles, catching fish in their nets and excitedly running away from hermit crabs.  During the holiday season there are more boats bobbing about than usual but mainly in the late afternoons as the owners of these water vessels would be out enjoying the day on the Keurbooms River.

Natures Valley

Offering views of the Keurbooms Lagoon, this room comes with a private entrance, satellite TV and tea-and-coffee making facilities. The en-suite bathroom is equipped with a shower and hairdryer.

Situated alongside the mouth of the Groot River and surrounded by forested cliffs, lagoon for swimming and untouched nature one feels like you have stepped back in time when enjoying a day at this breathtaking location.  This stretch of 6km beach has rock pools to explore and sea shells to fill the pockets with but please be sure to not swim alone in this sea as there are very strong currents and the waves can get very big.
